Van Oord has completed foundation installation at ScottishPower Renewables’ 714MW East Anglia One project off Suffolk.

The marine contractor installed all of the project’s 102 jacket foundations in 40-metre water depths.

Van Oord deployed Boskalis vessel Bokalift 1 for the majority of the work, but some components were installed by Seajack’s jack-up Scylla and Hereema crane vessel Aegir.

“Thanks to our ingenious working methods, the expertise of our project team and close cooperation with our partners and our client, we succeeded in installing all jacket foundations for wind farm East Anglia One smoothly and safely,” said Van Oord offshore wind director Arnoud Kuis.

The majority of components were installed from Vlissingen’s Bow Terminal.

Van Oord said the piling template it developed in-house to pre-pile the jackets was a key factor in successfully delivering the project.

Deme Offshore jack-up Sea Installer is currently installing the project’s Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines from Great Yarmouth.

The wind farm will enter operation later this year.

Spanish shipyard Navantia built 42 of the East Anglia One foundations.

Lamprell of the UAE produced 42 units as well as a further 18 ‘flat-pack’ bases, which were assembled at Belfast shipyard Harland and Wolff.
