French developer Eolink has completed trials of a one/tenth scale prototype of a proposed 12MW floating offshore wind turbine off the coast of Brittany.
The company said the prototype had done its job and had been towed back to the harbour at Brest after over a year in the water.

Eolink said the unit was tested to maximum power, as well as assessing its enhanced control strategies and behaviour during harsh wind and wave conditions.
The mooring system was also tested in terms of load and wind alignment, the company added.
Eolink will now focus of developing a full-scale version of the technology and preparing for third-party verification.
