Danish vessel operator A1 Offshore Solutions and Dutch equipment company KenzFigee have signed a cooperation agreement to create a walk-to-work offering for the offshore wind market.
The former’s Notus Express vessel is fitted with the latter’s motion compensated gangway to provide a “safe and easy” way to access offshore structures, the partners said.
Testing of the equipment has taken place over the last eight months at a variety of projects in the North Sea.
The service will also be offered to the oil and gas industry.
KenzFigee chief executive Jan-Pieter Klaver said: “We are convinced that the combined expertise and experience of both companies are beneficial to our clients in this industry.”
A1 counterpart Martin Laust Orberg added: “This agreement is fully in line with our ambition to further expand our business in the offshore oil, gas and wind industry. Our crew onboard and KenzFigee operators have received applauds from onboard clients, proving that the cooperation on the operational level is a great success.”
