VolkerInfra and TFKable have installed the first onshore cable sections for the 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.
Polish company TFKable said the 220kV high voltage wires include three circuits of ducted cables.
It added that the next phase of production is now in progress.
In January, TFKable and VolkerInfra won the contract to supply onshore cabling for the project.
TFKable is producing and testing the wires at its Bydgoszcz plant in Poland.
The cables are then transported to Scotland through a drum rotation system that will see a total of 240 drums delivered in the first three quarters of the year.
VolkerInfra is carrying the installation and connecting to the grid at a new substation being built at New Deer in Aberdeenshire.
Moray East will comprise 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines and is expected online in 2022.
