GE subsidiary LM Wind Power has rolled out the first 107-metre blade for the former company’s Haliade-X 12MW offshore wind turbine at its facility in Cherbourg, France.
Final preparations are being made to ship the unit, which will form part of the prototype turbine to be installed at a test site at Maasvlakte-Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the first tower sections for the prototype have arrived in the Netherlands from GRI’s site in Seville, Spain.
The turbine is due to be installed by local teams later in the summer.
