Acta Marine has christened its latest walk-to-work vessel Acta Centaurus at a ceremony in Den Helder in the Netherlands, ahead of deployment on the 269MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The vessel is currently preparing for mobilisation for the charter with MHI Vestas to support installation of 33 V164-8.4MW turbines at the project site.
It has already completed one job for Dutch energy company One-Dyas on the M7 gas platform in the Dutch North Sea, Acta said.
Acta Marine managing director Rob Boer said: “All systems have shown excellent performance. With great confidence, we move forward to her next assignment.”
Acta Centaurus is a sister vessel of Acta Auriga, both of which were jointly developed with UlsteinSX195 design.
It features an SMST 3D-compensated gangway and a six-ton3D crane as well as a Ulstein X-Bow and X-Stern.
The vessel has accommodation for 120 people and includes a helideck.
