Siemens Gamesa has landed a service agreement with Pattern Energy for the 218MW Panhandle 1 wind farm in Carson County in the US state of Texas.
Under the terms of contract, Siemens Gamesa will provide operations and maintenance to the facility’s 118 GE 1.85-87 turbines for four years, starting later this year.
The agreement covers supervisory control and data acquisition diagnostic analysis.
Pattern Energy senior vice president of operations Kevin Devlin said: “Siemens Gamesa is a strong service provider and we count on them to optimise performance and to realise the full value of our wind turbine fleet.”
The new agreement brings Siemens Gamesa’s total multi-brand turbine servicing portfolio to more than 1GW, part of nearly 57GW under service globally.
Siemens Gamesa said by leveraging the technical experience and capabilities it has amassed from servicing turbines of other manufacturers, it is able to improve the performance and reliability of GE’s turbines.
Siemens Gamesa service head for the Americas Darnell Walker said: “With Pattern Energy’s high expectations of service providers, we are proud to support them in solving complex challenges with the assurance of maximising project profitability and output.
“This agreement allows Pattern Energy to realize the best possible return on investment for their Panhandle Wind 1 fleet.”
Siemens Gamesa has been maintaining wind turbines from other manufacturers since 2010.
