GE Renewable Energy has secured orders totalling more than 2GW in North America in the first five months of 2019.
The manufacturer said the orders total 728 turbines with combined capacity of 2010MW and include Engie’s 160MW Jumbo Hill wind farm.
GE said the majority of the deals are for the company’s 2MW product, which will have total installed capacity of over 15GW by the end of the year.
GE Renewable Energy Americas onshore wind chief executive Vikas Anand said: “We are delighted to partner with both new and long-time customers to bring affordable, clean renewable energy to more homes and communities across the country.
“This is a time of unprecedented growth and demand for the onshore wind industry in the US, and we are proud to offer technology and service offerings that meet the specific needs of our customers.”
