Innogy has awarded EDS HV Group a contract on behalf of project owners Greencoat Wind UK for operations and maintenance management at the 60MW North Hoyle offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay off the UK’s north west coast.
The contract runs from the first quarter of 2019 for three years covering the onshore substation and export cables.
EDS will manage the hardware from its control centre on a 24/7 basis, as well as provide planned maintenance, fault location services and emergency repairs if necessary.
North Hoyle operations manager John Carey said: “We were very impressed with EDS’s technical proposal which demonstrated an excellent understanding of our HV requirements as well as showcasing their planned and reactive maintenance skills.
“The breadth of their services specific to the offshore market and their ability to respond quickly made EDS a very good choice.”
EDS asset manager Ryan Murphy said: “A proactive maintenance regime based on condition monitoring of HV assets plays a key role in optimising efficiency and reducing operational costs.
“Our goal is to help clients to maximise availability in a safe manner, and at lowest cost, by carrying out planned maintenance as efficiently as possible and minimising any unscheduled maintenance.
“This contract award builds upon an already excellent relationship that EDS has with Innogy and we look forward to continuing to provide the service levels that they have come to expect.”
North Hoyle was constructed in 2004.
