Rhenus Offshore Logistics has completed its first supply trip to the 700MW Borssele Alpha offshore platform off the coast of the Netherlands.
The company has taken over all the supply logistics for HSM Offshore during installation work at the Borssele project.
Supplies include building materials, tools, water, food and articles in daily use, Rhenus said.
The logistics work covers supply trips, port handling, customs clearance and waste disposal.
Rhenus said it is also operating its own depot for offshore containers, which are made available for the project, at the base port in Rotterdam.
Rhenus Borssele Alpha project manager Nicole Sturhann said: “Usingthe DNV-2.7-certified offshore containers at our depot in Rotterdam, we’re able to respond to needs arising within the project spontaneously and save the customer the costs and time associated with mobilising resources.”
Borssele Alpha is one of the offshore substations for Orsted’s 752MW Borssele 1&2 offshore wind farm.
