Manor Renewable Energy has bought two crew transfer vessels from Offshore Support Vessels for an undisclosed price.
The MPI Cervantes (pictured) and MPI Cardenio will be transported to Portland in southern England from Teesside in the next two weeks to be reconditioned.
The 17-metre boats were designed and built by South Boats in 2011 and 2012.
Manor Renewable Energy director Eric Briar said: “We have the capability at our Portland facility to build and/or refurb several vessels at a time; when these vessels were put up for sale we immediately saw the potential and once we strip them both down, totally re-engine and increase the overall length by three metres, we will basically own two brand new vessels in just over eight weeks time.”
Manor Renewable Energy will also start building a new CTV this month which will be the sister vessel of the Manor Venture.
The new vessel will be delivered in 2020.
