Wind farms operated by Estonia’s Eesti Energia produced 124 gigawatt hours in February, ten times the amount in the same period in 2018.
According to the chairman of Eesti Energie’s subsdiary Enfit Green, the performance was due to excellent wind conditions in February and good reliability of the wind farms.
“In addition, with the acquisition of Nelja Energia, Enefit Green has increased its wind energy production portfolio, which has resulted in significantly more wind farms today. Thanks to more stable and stronger winds, the wind farms produced a record amount of electricity in February,” said Karmas.
Enefit Green has a total of 20 wind farms with 165 wind turbines and a total capacity of 398MW in Estonia and Lithuania.
In February, the total electricity production of Enefit Green was 139 gigawatt hours, including the production volumes of the Keila-Joa hydroelectric power plant and solar parks.
Following the Nelja Energia acquisition Enefit Green’s output increased almost three-fold.
