Florida Power & Light Company has started commercial operations at four solar farms in the US state with a combined capacity of 298MW.
The plants are the Interstate facility in St Lucie county, Miami-Dade project in Miami-Dade county, Pioneer Trail in Volusia county, and the Sunshine Gateway in Columbia county.
Each of the PV projects has individual capacity of 74.5MW.
FPL now operates 18 solar farms with total capacity of about 1.25GW.
FPL president and chief executive Eric Silagy said: “These solar plants are the latest tangible evidence of our unparalleled commitment to investing in clean energy technologies for Florida affordably – a strategy that has already dramatically reduced emissions and produced billions of dollars in savings for Floridians.”
