Banks Renewables’ 51MW Middle Muir and EDF Renewables’ 177MW Dorenell onshore wind farms in Scotland have met all the milestone requirements stipulated by the Low Carbon Contracts Company as part of the projects’ Contract for Difference awards.
As a result both wind farms have started receiving CfD payments for power generated.
Payments to Dorenell, located on the Glenfiddich Estate, south of Dufftown in Moray, started on 20 December, while for Middle Muir, in South Lanarkshire, the payments began on 9 January, LCCC said.
LCCC chief executive Neil McDermott said: “I am delighted that Middle Muir and Dorenell onshore wind farms have their OCPs in line with the CfD requirements, providing an additional 228MW of operational low carbon capacity.
“We would like to congratulate both projects.”
LCCC is the designated counterparty for contracts awarded to generators under the UK government’s CfD scheme.
