Transmission system operator TenneT will install several transformers in the coming weeks at substations in Germany as part of work to enhance the country’s grid in Schleswig-Holstein.
The first transformer, built by ABB, will be transported from Busum to the site of the new Heide West substation in the region of Schleswig-Holstein tonight.

At the start of next month, a further two transformers will be delivered to the Husum Nord substation, and two more to the Wilster West facility at the end of March.
TenneT added that a third transformer for the Suderdonn substation in Kudensee is ready for road transport.
The transformers will connect TenneT’s 380kV grid to the Schleswig-Holstein’s 110kV grid.
