SSE is seeking a company to provide drone surveys and inspections at onshore and offshore projects, including wind turbines blades.
The tender offer is divided into two lots, with one lot covering offshore machines and valued at £310,000.
The offshore lot calls for unmanned aerial vehicle inspections and reports of any findings, including cause, size of the defect, location and severity.
A contract would run for three years with the option to extend for two more years.
The other lot includes both onshore and offshore blade inspections, as well as a variety of other survey and photography work.
It is valued at £7.5m and would also run for three years, with an option for two further years.
SSE expects between three and 15 companies to bid for each of the lots.
Interested parties have until 20 February to respond.
