Senvion will supply turbines to the 6MW Rosario wind project in the Sassari province on the Italian island of Sardinia.
Developer Repower Renewables placed the order for the plant, which will be completed in May this year.
Senvion, which took the order in December, will supply and install the 3.6M140 turbines, with a capacity of 3MW each.
The turbines will feature Senvion’s largest rotor, which has a 140-metre diameter and a hub height of 107 metres.
The company will also provide full maintenance services for 15 years.
The towers of the turbines will be built in Italy, while the nacelles and the blades will be produced in Germany and Portugal respectively.
Repower Renewables chief executive Marco Ceroni said: “Rosario represents the first greenfield construction in 2019 and will bring our total installed capacity to around 90MW.
“We are glad to continue the relationship with Senvion for the construction and management of our wind farms.”
Repower Renewables is a joint venture between Repower Group and the Capenergie III fund, managed by Omnes Capital.
