Irish investor NTR has acquired a 200MW portfolio of operational and pre-construction onshore wind in Sweden and Finland.
The Dublin company said it will invest €180m under the deal to build the 108MW Norra-Vedbo cluster by 2021.
A 94MW cluster of operational projects include the 69MW Trattberget in the Örnsköldsvik municipality in northern Sweden, 10MW Skutskär at the Swedish town’s port in Medora Bay and 15MW Svalskulla in the Ostrobothnia region of Finland.
The assets came into operation at various dates between 2009 and 2014.
NTR will put in place long-term power price contracts for the Swedish projects, it said.
The transaction, under the company’s €500m investment drive, was with Vindin, a consortium of nine Swedish industrial companies.
“Sweden and Finland represent exciting new geographies for the fund, each having ambitious renewable energy targets and a stable economic outlook,” said chief investment officer Manus O’Donnell.
“This portfolio of projects provides an attractive mix across the development life-cycle, in line with our fund’s strategy to complement projects in development with those already up and running.”
