Capital Power Corporation has started commercial operations at its 99MW New Frontier wind farm in North Dakota.
The Canadian company said the project was completed on time and below the original cost estimate of $145m.

Capital Power said it will supply 87% of the electricity from New Frontier to an investment grade US financial institution under a 12-year deal.
Capital Power president and chief executive Brian Vaasjo said: “Utilising our in-house construction capabilities, the construction of New Frontier wind was completed in eight months and is another successful renewable development project in the US.”
“With everything in place and completion below budget, New Frontier wind is set to exceed our original return expectations.”
