BayWa has sold the over 41MW Lacs Medocains solar farm in France to Sonnedix and Allianz Global Investors.
Sonnedix is acquiring 31.8MW, with the remaining capacity going to the Allianz Renewable Energy Fund 2.
BayWa completed the project in November 2017 and will continue operational management of Lacs Medocains.
BayWa Solar Projects managing director Benedikt Ortmann said: “We are happy to announce that we have successfully sold this project to two major players in the renewable energy sector.”
“The realisation of this major project shows once again the capacity of BayWa to implement large scale solar in France with the highest quality standards.”
Sonnedix chief executive Axel Thiemann said: “We are pleased to strengthen our relationship with BayWa by adding these plants to our platform, which expands our operating capacity in France to 189MW.
“With more than 1.5GW of controlled capacity to date, adding high quality assets to our portfolio is key to our growth plans as we build, develop and acquire projects in OECD countries around the world.”
Allianz Global Investors head of transaction management Thomas Engelmann said: “We are delighted to be able to continue our close relationship with BayWa.”
