Siemens Gamesa is to supply Spanish renewables developer Norvento with turbines totalling almost 35MW for an unnamed wind farm near Lugo in Spain.
A total of 10 machines with individual capacity of 3.465MW and blade diameters of 132 metres will be delivered to the project in the A Marina district.
Delivery is expected to be completed by summer 2019, the manufacturer said.
Blades will be produced at the Aoiz plant in Navarra, while the nacelles will be built at the Agreda factory in Soria.
Siemens Gamesa onshore chief executive for southern Europe and Africa Enrique Pedrosa said: “We are grateful for the confidence that Norvento has placed in our turbines. The cutting-edge technology in these wind generators assures the best performance and the highest standards of reliability.”
Norvento energy manager Ivan Nogueiras said: “Our commitment is to choose the best wind technology for installation in Galicia, while ensuring the utmost respect for the environment; the Siemens Gamesa wind generators play a key role in achieving that.”
