Canadian Solar subsidiary Recurrent Energy is partnering with Entergy to develop the 100MW Sunflower solar farm in the US state of Mississippi.
Recurrent will build the project, which will be owned by Entergy Mississippi when operational.
The solar farm will be located on 405 hectares in Sunflower county and is earmarked for completion no later than 2022. It will connect to Entergy’s transmission grid in Ruleville.
Sunflower will include a single-axis tracking photovoltaic power generator and 350,000 solar modules.
Entergy Mississippi president and chief executive officer Haley Fisackerly said: “Building the utility of the future means embracing new technologies.
“The Sunflower Solar Facility will support our plan to offer community solar to customers who want renewable energy as part of their energy mix.”
