Enel renewables output rose almost 25% in the first nine months of 2018 to 74,572 gigawatt-hours from 59,743GWh in the same period last year.
Hydro accounted for almost 50,000GWh of the generation, with wind supplying 16,345GWh. The remainder was made up of solar, geothermal and others.

More than 33,100GWh was generated by assets in South America – mainly hydro – with almost 20,000GWh in Italy and just under 10,000GWh in the Iberia region.
Overall, Enel generated 187,764GWh in the first three quarters of the year, up almost 2% on last year.
Installed clean power capacity reached 38,372MW at the end of the third quarter, up 3% on the same period last year, representing over 45% of the Italian outfit’s generation assets.
