Orsted has completed the acquisition of US renewables developer Lincoln Clean Energy from I Squared Capital, marking the former’s move into the onshore wind sector.
The Danish company said it will set up a new business unit called Onshore Wind, which will report as a separate segment, and be led by Ole Kjems Sorensen.

Sorensen is a member of Orsted’s executive committee and will also continue to lead the company’s corporate development and M&A activities.
Other name changes will see the former Wind Power unit now known as Offshore Wind, while Bioenergy is the new moniker for what was previously known as Bioenergy & Thermal Power.
Distribution & Customer Solutions will now be known as Customer Solutions.
