Orsted has appointed Steven Engels as new general manager for continental western Europe and country manager for the Netherlands.
Engels succeeds Jasper Vis as Dutch country manager, who leaves after six years in the role.
Engels (pictured) said he has three goals in the new role as general manager. “Firstly, we want to realise Borssele 1&2 successfully, so that we can supply a million Dutch houses with green energy from 2020 onwards.
“In addition we will focus of the further growth of Orsted in the Netherlands and other countries in western Europe. Finally, we will work on the further expansion of the internal organisation to enable this further growth.”
Vis said: “As a global market leader in offshore wind, Orsted has now also made a name for itself in the Dutch market.
“We are on track with preparations and activities for our wind farm Borssele 1&2. After six years it is time for me to take a next step.”
