UK outfit Western Power Distribution is to deploy software developed by Smarter Grid Solutions’ across its network in the UK under a new licensing agreement.
The ANM Strata distributed energy resource management system will cover the network in south Wales and the south west and Midlands region of England.
It is able to deliver preventative and real-time corrective control to the grid, optimising operations and providing flexibility services, Smarter Grid Solutions said.
Smarter Grid Solutions chief operating officer Brent Marshall said: “This new agreement marks a major change in how utilities are deploying our software as they roll-out our products to meet their customers’ demands.
“The licence provides WPD with a platform to also meet emerging and future system needs, including management of battery storage and electric vehicle charging.”
