South-east Asia renewables specialist Modern Energy Management is providing advisory services on 1.1GW of wind projects in Vietnam.
The company is mainly acting as owner’s representative on the projects, said MEM managing director Aaron Daniels.
“We are unique in our ability to do this as our team has significant experience developing, building and operating wind projects in SE Asia,” he said.
“Vietnam has a modest feed-in tariff, which means developers must be extraordinarily skilled in site selection and the development process to be successful. A market landscape like Vietnam allows no margin for error for investors,” Daniels added.
The company is also working on several intertidal wind farms in the Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang corridor of the country.
“Intertidal projects are quite complex and challenging as they present a unique risk profile,” said Daniels. “To have the confidence of our clients as their owner’s representative really signifies our experience and expertise in intertidal wind projects in Vietnam.”
