Vattenfall is seeking feedback from local residents and businesses on updated plans for the 70MW Clashindarroch 2 wind farm near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The Swedish company will hold several drop-in events starting on 10 September outlining the new proposal for 14 machines with heights of up to 180 metres.
Vattenfall had previously planned a 16-turbine development with heights of up to 180 metres.
Clashindarroch 2 project manager Alison Daugherty said: “We invite local people to join us at one of our events and discuss our plans for Clashindarroch 2.
“We believe we have the right balance between minimising visual impact and Clashindarroch 2 making a telling contribution to Scotland’s climate change challenge. Taller turbines mean less carbon in the atmosphere. So, we want to know what people think. What are your concerns? Hopes? Let’s talk.”
Vattenfall plans to submit a planning application to the Scottish government in 2019.
The project would be built adjacent to the 36.9MW Clashindarroch 1 wind farm, which features 18 MM82 Senvion 2.05MW turbines.
