Senvion has been contracted to supply turbines totalling 275MW to the Truscott-Gilliland East wind project in Knox County, Texas.
The project, which is owned by Taaleri Energia and is being co-developed with NorthRenew Energy, is expected to come online in 2020.
The deal covers the supply and commissioning of 58 4.2M140 turbines with a hub height of 110 metres as well as 10 3.2M114 machines with 93 metre hub height.
A 25-year full service operations and maintenance deal is also included in the contract.
Senvion Holding executive director and chief sales officer David Hardy said: “We are excited to be back in the US and see this as a showcase project for our new and highly competitive 4.2M140.
“Obviously, size is one thing, but lowest LCoE [levelised cost of electricity] is really what is driving the decision for Taaleri and NorthRenew and we are glad to have helped them realise this project and bring it to fruition.”
