Renewables business helped raise Fugro revenue to €797.4m in the first half of 2018, up from €774.3m in the same period last year.
Earnings were also up, reaching €56.7m in the first six months of the year, compared with €46.6m in 2017.
The company’s marine division was boosted by offshore wind growth worldwide, including geotechnical work at the Hornsea 2 project site off the coast of England and various other site characterisation jobs in France, UK and US.
Revenue from marine stood at €503.1m from January to the end of June, up from €467.2m last year. Earnings jumped to €34.2m from €11.6m.
The backlog for the remainder of the year is €423.2m, up slightly on the €410.9m reported last year.
Fugro chief executive Oystein Loseth said: “In the offshore wind market, where Fugro has strong positions, we benefit from large projects in the North Sea, the US and Asia.
“Strong revenue growth, in combination with last year’s cost reduction measures, has resulted in improved profitability.”
