EDF earnings from its renewables business was up almost 21% in the first half of the year to over €1.1bn from €917m last year.
The company said it benefited from increased wind and solar generation, boosted by commissioning and acquisitions, as well as hydro output in France which was up over 37% on 2017 at 29.3 terrawatt-hours.
Renewables sales stood at almost €2.4bn in the first six months of 2018, an increase of more than 20% on the €1.96bn posted in the same period of 2017.
Installed clean power capacity at EDF Energies Nouvelles stood at 8.1GW at the end of June, an increase of 1.4GW year-on-year.
A further 1.7GW of projects are under construction, of which 1GW are solar and 700,000MW are wind, EDF said.
Overall, earnings at EDF Group were up almost 18% in the first half of the year to more than €8.23bn, compared with just under €7bn last year.
Sales grew 5.6% to about €35.17bn from under €33.3bn in 2017.
