German company Kluber Lubrication is to showcase biodegradable lubricants for use on offshore wind turbines at the WindEnergy 2018 conference and exhibition in Hamburg in September.
The Kluberbio LG 39-701N lubricant is for gear teeth on yaw drives and the yaw bearing raceway or slide plates, the company said.
It is made from renewable raw materials and is biodegradable.
The company has also developed a software system called EfficiencyManager to collect data to help manage maintenance and repairs on turbines.
EfficiencyManager can be accessed online or as a mobile phone app, Kluber Lubrication said.
Kluber Lubrication sales development manager Thomas Jorgensen said: “Wind turbine generator system operators have great interest not only in extending maintenance intervals to as long as they can be, but also making it possible to schedule them.
“There is also the requirement for greater efficiency and sustainability. We offer our clients custom-fit solutions and services which go far beyond the offer of high-performance products.”
WindEnergy 2018 will run from 25-28 September at the Hamburg Messe und Congress.
