Fortum has connected a 100MW solar plant to grid at Pavagada in the Tumkur district of Karnataka, India.
The facility increases Fortum’s solar production capacity in India to 185MW.
The Finnish utility won a bid in April 2016 in a reverse auction for 100MW of the total of 500MW capacity auctioned.
Fortum’s 100MW is the first part of the Pavagada solar park that has reached its full capacity.
Fortum India managing director Sanjay Aggarwal said: “I am especially proud that we once again completed our solar project on time and according to plan.”
