Indian Power Finance Corp has raised $400m through the issuance of a green bond to fund renewables and energy efficiency projects in India.
The 10-year dated green bond pays a 3.75% semi-annual coupon and is listed on the London Stock Exchange’s (LSE’s) International Securities Market.
Indian Power Finance Corp will identify projects in line with its own green bond framework, which it drafted in accordance with international guidelines provided by the Green Bond Principles.
The bond is also certified by Climate Bonds Initiative.
The LSE said that seven green bonds have been listed on the exchange in November raising a total of $3.2bn.
