Maersk Training will unveil a new wind turbine simulator next week at its Portlethen facility in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The company will showcase the simulator to members of Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group on 22 November.
Instructors will carry out practical demonstrations of training to the group’s members.
The simulator allows multiple models of onshore and offshore rescue demonstration to be replicated, enabling technicians to train in demanding and realistic conditions, the company added.
Maersk Training operations manager Michael Prater-Cockayne said: “It’s an area of training that has perhaps been too generic up to now but this technology means we can offer a larger range of courses to meet the demands of our customers.
“We’ve seen training for the renewables sector increase rapidly over the last few months with many transitioning from oil & gas. We look forward to showcasing our facilities to AREG members on Wednesday.”
