Yingli Green Energy has started construction of a 100MW solar plant in the Inner Mongolia region of China.
The Top Runner project is located in Wuhai City and will consist of Yingli Panda bifacial panels spread over a two kilometre square area.
It is expected to come online in June next year.
Yingli chairman and chief executive Liansheng Miao said: “We believe that this project will be another example of Yingli’s efforts in technological innovations to increase the efficiency and reduce the cost of solar power generation.”
He added that the Panda panels have approximately 17% higher energy yield than typical multi-crystalline units.
