WindEurope, SolarPower Europe, RE100 and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development have established a multi-stakeholder platform to promote a better regulatory framework for sourcing renewable energy in Europe.
The RE-Source Platform aims to bring together the interests of both renewable energy buyers and sellers to coordinate activities at the EU and national level.
WindEurope chief executive Giles Dickson (pictured) said: “Corporate renewable power purchase agreements provide clean, reliable and competitive power for industry across all sectors and increasingly in energy-intensive sectors.
“The new RE-Source platform will play a vital role in spreading the model to all countries in Europe and to smaller companies so that more industrial consumers can benefit from it.”
