Norwegian developer Scatec Solar has a pipeline of 1.8GW of new photovoltaic projects under development in the Americas, Africa, Asia and Middle East.
The company said it has 394MW of new solar projects under construction, and a further 322MW operating worldwide.
It recently formed a partnership with fellow Norwegian company Statoil to build, own and operate solar plants in Brazil.
Scatec said that it secured a net gain of Nkr375m (€40m) in the third quarter of 2017 as a result of the new venture.
The company reached financial close on 6 October on three solar plants in Malaysia totalling 197MW.
Finance for the projects was raised through the issuance of an Islamic green bond known as SRI Sukuk.
Some 400MW in Egypt and 258MW in South Africa are nearing financial close and are scheduled to start construction next year, Scatec added.
