Semco Maritime has opened an office in Grimsby on the east coast of the UK.
The company said the move is in the wake of winning the engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for all electrical and instrumentation systems at Dong Energy’s 1.2GW Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm.
Semco Maritime said the new office puts it close to customers and allows it to build up a staff of local offshore technicians.
The official opening will take place on 12 October.
Semco Maritime vice president Carsten Nielsen said: “We have been present in the UK for many years with offices in Aberdeen, Invergordon and Norfolk but with all the work we are doing in the central North Sea, we felt the need for a local office here on The Humber in Grimsby.”
