Eon has started construction of a 20MW energy storage facility in Texas at two existing wind farms.
The Texas Waves lithium battery storage project is being built at the Pyron and Inadale wind farms in the west of the US state.
Eon said the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) will use the project to help cope with fluctuations in the state’s energy requirements.
Texas Waves is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
