Offshore specialist VBMS has completed repairs to the export cable at Vattenfall’s 150MW Ormonde wind farm in the Irish Sea.
VBMS deployed cable-lay barge Stemat 82 to carry out the work, which involved replacing a segment of export cable located 20km offshore.
The Dutch outfit worked with UK high-voltage specialists EDS to install a universal subsea joint to connect the replacement and existing cables.
The Stemat 82 was also used to replace two lengths of array cable in the outer Thames Estuary, VBMS said.
