Iceni Marine Services is providing two crew transfer vessels to support installation of foundations at EDF Energy Renewables’ 41.5MW Blyth offshore wind demonstration project off the coast of Northumberland.
Iceni Spirit and Iceni Courage are supporting Strukton Immersion Projects on the installation of the five gravity-based foundations.
The vessels are transferring crew and equipment daily from the Port of Blyth to the site, with the first transfer having taken place on 3 August.
Iceni Courage (pictured) is also providing overnight emergency response at the wind farm, the company said.
Two of the five foundations, which were developed by BAM Nuttall and BAM Infra, have been installed.
Iceni director Richard Thurlow said: “Iceni Marine are proud to be supporting Strukton Immersion Projects with this innovative demonstrator, which brings technological advances to the offshore wind industry.
“Iceni Spirit and Courage, together with their crews, bring proven experience and a highly professional approach to the project.”
