Revenue at Siemens energy management business was up 5% in the third quarter of 2017 at just over €3bn from less than €2.9bn in the same period last year.
Orders were down slightly at just above €3.0bn in the period, from more than €3.1bn in 2016.
Siemens said orders were down in the transformer business, compared with last year when the company sealed a large deal in Asia.
Profit was also down in the energy management unit by 14% to €207m from €240m in the third quarter of 2016.
Overall, orders were down 6% at the German giant to €19.8bn in the third quarter of the year, from more than €21.0bn in the same period in 2016.
Revenue was up 8% to €21.4bn from €19.8bn, while net income rose 7% to almost €1.5bn from below €1.4bn last year.
