Vestas is to deliver turbines totalling 148MW for Southern Power’s Cactus Flats wind farm in Texas.
The Danish manufacturer will supply and commission 43 V126-3.45MW machines.
Delivery is expected to start in 2017, with commissioning planned for 2018.
The deal also includes a 20-year service agreement, Vestas said.
Vestas US and Canada sales and service division president Chris Brown said: “This order further expands our 4MW footprint in North America, reaffirming both the versatility and proven ability of our platforms to deliver low-cost, reliable wind energy.”
