Orkney officials are seeking to develop a “substantial” wind farm in the island cluster off the north coast of Scotland.
The local authority has invited landowners to put forward potential sites of at least 100 hectares that could be leased for the onshore project.
Orkney Islands Council recently decided to pursue the initiative “as an important source of income”.
Leader Jams Stockan said: “As we move forward with this initiative we want to make sure we’ve explored every avenue open to us.”
He added: “We welcome approaches from people across Orkney with land that could prove suitable. It’s important we identify the best possible location for the type of project we envisage.”
