Profit from Vattenfall’s wind business was over Skr1.05bn (€110m) in the first half of 2017, up from Skr597m in the same period last year.
Sales also increased in the period to almost Skr4.6bn from just under Skr3.26bn in the first six months of 2016.
The company said the increases were the result of new capacity additions, including the 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm in Germany and the 54MW Ray and 228MW Pen y Cymoed onshore wind farms in the UK.
Wind generation was 3.9 terrawat hours in the first half of 2017, up from 2.8TWh last year.
Vattenfall president and chief executive Magnus Hall said: “We are on track towards our strategic target of 2.3GW additional renewable power capacity by 2020.”
Overall, the company posted a profit of Skr5.9bn in the first six months of the year, soaring above the Skr1bn reported last year.
Hall said: “We improved our risk profile compared to last year with the sale of lignite operations, through the Swedish Energy Agreement and now also with the settlement of the long-term nuclear liabilities in Germany.”
