EDF Energy Renewables has confirmed the acquisition of an up to 600MW portfolio of Scottish wind farm sites from UK developer Partnerships for Renewables.
The deal includes 100MW across three consented projects, one late-stage developments and early-stage ambitions across the country. All are expected to be post-subsidy.
The purchase was first reported exclusively in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
EDF ER said the deal is “further evidence” its commitment to Scotland and renewable energy.
Chief executive Matthieu Hue said the company is pleased to be adding the PfR projects to its portfolio.
“EDF Energy Renewables has a well-established strategy to grow our business either by developing our own sites or through acquiring high calibre projects. This deal underlines our ambitions to develop our business further and to expand the number of windfarm projects we are developing.”
The acquisition follows the opening of EDF Energy Renewables new offices in Edinburgh earlier this year.
