ScottishPower has today officially opened its new headquarters in Glasgow that will be the company’s global base for offshore wind.
The new office, which was opened by Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon (pictured, right), brings together 1650 employees who were previously spread across a number of sites in Scotland.
The new base will enable “better collaboration on future technologies” and deliver major projects in the UK, USA, Germany and France, ScottishPower said.
The company added that it is investing £4m a day over 2016–2020, up from £3.3m in the 2013-2015 period.
ScottishPower chairman Ignacio Galán (pictured, left) said: “Glasgow has a long and successful history in innovation and industry and our new headquarters will ensure that the city continues to be a centre of engineering excellence and invention.
“For the first time, we have our expert teams under one roof with a shared purpose to harness low carbon power and deliver digital transformation.”
