Kersten Middle East has won a contract to provide 330 J-tubes for the 714MW East Anglia 1 wind farm off the UK’s east coast.
J-tubes are J or S-shaped steel tubes that are attached to the foundation to help guide the export power cables from the turbine to the seabed.
The tubes will have an S355J2H grade and will be 100% magnetical particle inspected, the company said.
Kersten Middle East general manager Mike Minten said: “The production of the East Anglia 1 J-tubes is a great opportunity to show the offshore wind industry that we are very capable of producing these heavy duty offshore components with European quality in the Middle East.”
