Ecosse Subsea Systems has completed a 14-day seabed clearance project for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm located approximately 13km off the Caithness coast.
Ecosse deployed its Scar2 seabed system from the Siem Ruby vessel on behalf of Siem Offshore Contractors.
It said several hundred boulders were removed over a 15km route in water depths of between 38 and 60 metres.
ESS managing director Mark Gillespie said: “We are delighted to have safely completed another seabed clearance operation on a major wind farm construction project.”
Beatrice will comprise 84 Siemens 7MW turbines and be fully operational in 2019.
It is being developed by SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power.
